John W. Kostyshock, P.E., P.L.S., heads the Investigative Unit for MEI. He brings over thirty years of experience and a reputation for excellence and personal service to every project, and is dedicated to fostering thorough investigating practices, while ensuring cost savings to every client.
He has conducted a variety of investigations involving structural failure, storm damage, product liability and blasting damage. In 1999, due to an apparent and pressing need in the industry, Mr. Kostyshock was certified as an Environmental Access Consultant, and was asked to participate as a contributing member of the C.E.A.C. Examination and Research Committee to set the criteria for testing future members for certification. He has been involved in recommending remodeling/ construction of residences to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, thereby ensuring the best possible use of space for special needs patients, while diminishing costs for the client.
David Masters, P.E., P.L.S, lends his expertise to all Investigative Engineering assignments, as well as his experience as an Expert Witness in testimony for our clients. He has also been involved with cause and origin and product liability claims. Mr. Masters has been called upon to use his expertise in electronic engineering to determine the cause of failure to an HVAC system and electronic equipment in a private home.
Tammy Rice, Investigative Team Coordinator, has been involved with over 150 investigations for the firm. She serves as the liaison between the client, the insured and investigators. She is the main contact involved with each job and is responsible for coordinating all aspects of each investigation, including scheduling, verbal reporting and final report assembly.
Because we are a
member of the Investigative Engineers Association, our clients also receive the benefit of
the knowledge of every affiliate member across the United States and Canada. Also,
by making a phone call to us, our clients may be put in contact with other affiliate
members in different regions, should they have a claim in a location other than the one we
